Taking Care of Your Equipment- Wakesurf Boards

You’ve spent a lot of money on your new surf board set up, what types of things do you need to do to ensure they last and stay in good condition? There is not a lot that goes into taking care of your equipment, it's really quite basic. First thing is, keep it out of direct sunlight. Seems silly right? It’s meant for the outdoors! Yes, but when not in use it's going to be best for your equipment to store it somewhere out of direct sunlight to keep the colors bright and looking like new. Extreme temperatures over long periods of time can actually cause your board to crack and eventually let water seep into your board. The next step is to wipe down your boards or skis at the end of each day, especially if you are going to be storing your board in a surf bag or surf sock.

If you do ding up your board, repair it right away, don’t wait for it to get worse. The best home remedy for a dented board is going to be putting a layer of epoxy over the ding, let dry, then sand it down. Overall, just be cautious of your surf, it can be fragile. Be careful when you are transporting and moving your board around the boat. It’s simple, and can make your board last a lot longer if it is taken care of properly.
